The history of the Altosan company dates back to 1989, when the joint venture "Protos", a joint Canadian-Soviet enterprise with offices and branches in Kiev, Moscow, Riga, Chernivtsi, Yerevan, was organized. The main areas of activity of the company were telephone connection, repair of electric motors, production of rubber-technical products and even work with precious metals. The company grew and expanded, and in 1991 could rightly be called the enterprise of union significance
In 1991, a "parade of sovereignty" of the Union republics began, due to which the USSR ceased to exist. Ukraine has become a sovereign state and its subsidiaries are located on different sides of the border. Therefore, in January 1992, it was decided that the Kyiv branch of the joint venture would be registered as a new firm, which was named "Altosan". The priority directions of the company"s development were chosen by telephone connection and fire automatics for buildings and structures.
Since 1994 the enterprise specializes in the field of engineering and technical systems of fire protection.
Since 1995, the company has begun the promotion of aerosol fire extinguishing systems in the Ukrainian market.
In 1998, using the best practices in the field of fire extinguishing, as well as on the basis of studying the market and operating models of fire automatics of imported and domestic production, it is decided to start the scientific development of fire fighting control devices, have no analogues either in the Ukrainian market or in foreign markets countries.
In 2000, the first fruit of the scientific work of the specialists of the enterprise - the complex "Alto 2000" - was released. The device was so successful that it is still being produced, having only been modernized in accordance with the standards DSTU EN54 (European standards for fire-fighting equipment). In the same year another subsidiary company is opened, which is engaged in maintenance of already installed and put into operation fire protection systems.
Since 2006, the company has fundamentally revised its development strategy. The team is replenished by young promising specialists who strengthen the company"s leading position in the Ukrainian market. In this they are assisted by employees who stood near the creatures of the firm "Altosan". In general, the team rejuvenates by 60%.
To date, Altosan Ltd. successfully operates in the Ukrainian market, as well as goes to markets of other countries. The company"s products are claimed for certification in several countries of the near and far abroad.
The company has implemented the ISO 9001 system since 2009.
